Drawing inspiration from the centuries old tradition of commemorating the dead with rocks and stones, Yoona Hur’s “Memorial Field” is an offering to those who have fought against and suffered from the devastating effects of Covid-19, both the living and the dead. The small size of the clay rocks are laid out in a grid against the tall height of ceiling, creating what Hur describes as a “cathedral” effect.
